JUNE ARTIST: MOLLY ALTHOFF!

Molly Althoff is a Minnesota born and raised multi-disciplinary artist and designer. Working mostly in abstraction, often incorporating bold elements and repetition to imagine new possibilities. Color is often the catalyst that draws Molly through her creative journey. Imaginative play and curiosity are an important component of her creative practice, resulting in the joyful surprise of color and shape combinations. Molly has a BS in graphic design from SDSU. She began her art career as a graphic designer creating mostly computer based work before realizing her passion was in creating physical objects by hand. She now spends much of her time drawing and painting with a variety of mediums including pencil, acrylic, printmaking, and sculpture. Her influences include many artists and designers from the Modern Art movement such as Paul Klee and Lee Krasner, to design and illustration icons like Milton Glaser and Mary Blair.

JULY ARTIST: ANGIE PIPKORN!

Born and raised in Austin, MN, Angie has been an artist ever since she could hold a pencil. A former tattoo artist, Angie now focuses on freelance art, vending at art fairs, and teaching. She works on commissions for anything from  abstract compositions, to portraits, and everything in between. She paint with oils, acrylics, and water colors, and creates 3D works with resin and clay. Angie describes her style as being a lot like she herself - loud, bold, and colorful. It is whimsical, alternative, realistic and sometimes macabre. She often repurposes frames and even metal wall decor to recreate mher own work, which resembles a mix of my personal interests and influences, such as tattoos, horror movies, my funny sarcastic bold personality, love for animals, love for family, and love for nature.
