Rochester artist Joseph Alexander presents The Grand Drag Legacy of Southeastern Minnesota, a collection of oil-painted portraits of legendary drag queens who have advanced representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Minnesota’s Driftless Area.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Third-generation oil painter Joseph Alexander is the founder of Driftless Art Academy in Rochester, MN. Joseph studies portraiture with celebrated portrait painter, illustrator, and ARC Associate Living Master Kevin Murphy. His training also includes several years of study under classical master artist Dan Petrov. He is a member of Oil Painters of America, the National Portrait Society, and the Minnesota Artists Association. Joseph lives with his husband John and their dog Eljay.
