Artist Statement:
“A Few of My Favorite Things” marks a new and refreshingly personal direction in my practice—work created not for clients or brands, but purely for the joy of illustrating my own world. Maintaining my graphic, playful style, this collection channels that same bold energy into subjects that are deeply meaningful to me. Inspired by the spirit of the original holiday song, the pieces celebrate the objects, people, colors, and small delights that shape my memories.
Bright illustrations bring these favorites to life: my Nonna’s holiday cookies, the graphic shapes of pasta, and vibrant portraits honoring my late loved ones. My beloved father-in-law and impactful artist Matthew Nelson, and my caring, Italian immigrant grandmother, Josephine Panetta. Each artwork transforms personal history into colorful iconography, with notes of holiday memories throughout.
Viewers are invited to share their own favorite things on hang tags to collectively recall the things that bring joy to their own world.
